To reach a big goal, I have to become the person who can do it
Early note
Early guess, drawn from something I read. This note is early and still needs a worked example.
It’s tempting to chase a big goal while still thinking the way I did before it. Take starting a business: if I keep the mindset of someone who waits to be told what to do, I’ll keep hitting the same walls.
The shift I’m after
Become the kind of person who sees the goal as possible and has built the skill to do it. That is slower than just working harder.
What I haven’t figured out
I’m not sure yet what the first concrete change in identity should be. This idea came from something I read, not from a result of my own, so I’m holding it loosely.
