This page explains the rules I keep for myself so you know what you’re looking at.
Stages
Every note has a stage label, a planted date, and a last-tended date. “Last tended” means I changed something meaningful, not just fixed a typo.
a rough first thought. Often an early guess, sometimes unsourced. Expect gaps.
cleaned up and clearer, with at least some of my own thinking and an example.
reasonably complete and still tended. Even these are never truly finished.
Where the notes come from
I keep private notes that are messy and personal. The notes on this site are rewritten from those private notes, in my own words, not copied. A public note usually starts as an Encounter, something I read, heard, or lived through, and then gets reshaped into an idea.
What I leave out
I mask sensitive information. That means names, places, workplaces, health details, and anything about other people that isn’t mine to share. When a note needs an example I can’t share, I either generalize it or say that it needs one.
Notes evolve
I come back to notes, change them, merge them, and sometimes remove them. When a note changes in a meaningful way, its last-tended date moves and I record it in the Changelog.
Not a blog
There are no posts in order of date and no polished final takes. What matters is how ideas connect, so I rely on links over chronology. Start with Start here and follow what looks interesting.
