Less, but better is the filter I use to decide what stays
Early note
I haven’t yet written down specific decisions where I used this filter, so it still needs worked examples.
“Less, but better” was my theme for 2025, and it still works as a quick filter. When I’m deciding whether something earns a place, I ask whether it’s the better version of what I already have.
Why “better” matters
Cutting things only helps when what’s left is chosen on purpose. Otherwise it’s just deprivation, and I end up missing things I never decided to give up.
What’s still missing
This theme is my one concrete anchor so far. I want to collect a few real decisions to see whether the filter holds up, and note where it fails.
