This is the catch-all Heartbeat for environment and lifestyle: the car I drive, the home I actually live in versus the one that just holds my stuff, getting outside instead of living entirely inside screens and systems, and catching myself when I’m doing busywork that feels productive but doesn’t actually move anything forward. None of these are glamorous goals, but they show up in my mood on a random Tuesday more than any big five-year plan does.
Living well, it turns out, is mostly about not neglecting the small stuff.
