Build Inner Circle

This is one of six “Diagnoses” under my Relationships Heartbeat — the long-term vision markers that keep me honest about the people side of my life, not just the productivity side.

Building an inner circle means being intentional about who gets close, not just who’s around. For a long time my social life ran on autopilot: old friendships kept out of habit, new ones kept shallow because depth takes energy I was spending elsewhere. This diagnosis is my push to flip that — showing up consistently for a smaller number of people, seeking out communities built around things I actually care about instead of just proximity or convenience, and being willing to let some relationships fade so others can go deeper.

Progress here isn’t measured in follower counts or how many group chats I’m in. It’s measured in who I’d call at 2am, and who’d call me. Still early days, but it’s one of the goals I feel the most urgency around.
